New layout for blog

We recently added an “Online Exhibits” page to this blog and we will soon be posting our first online exhibit. In order to give us more flexibility when creating online exhibits, we have changed the layout of the entire blog. The widgets for Categories (now a drop-down menu), Tags, Facebook, and “Follow Us” are now located at the bottom of the page.

Watch for the online exhibit, Treasures from the Archives of the Sisters of Charity Federation, featuring images contributed by archvists from Sisters of Charity Federation member communities. The online exhibit will be up by the end of the week.

Exhibit: Treasures from the Archives of the Sisters of Charity Federation

Exhibit preparation

Provincial Archivist Dee Gallo prepares “Treasures of the Sisters of Charity Federation” exhibit for opening on October 24.

From October 25-26, the Provincial Archives will host the first-ever gathering of archivists from the Sisters of Charity Federation. In honor of this meeting we are mounting a special exhibit highlighting history of all the Federation communities, made up of images contributed by the Federation archivists.

Treasures from the Archives of the Sisters Of Charity Federation will be on display in Gallery 1 from October 24 to October 31.

In Memoriam: Swift, Witte, Marek

In memory of the Daughters of Charity who died during the months of August and September.

Sister Mary Jo Swift – Died August 2, 2013 at Seton Residence, Evansville, IN, 82 years of age and 60 years of vocation.

Sister Catherine Witte – Died September 3, 2013 at St. Louise House, Albany, NY, 97 years of age and 67 years of vocation.

Sister Aileen Marek – Died September 7, 2013 at Anna House Residence, The Sarah Community, Bridgeton, MO, 91 years of age and 71 years of vocation.

May they rest in peace.
